Aletta Buchanan
Born May 7, 1939, in Bradford she was a daughter of the late James F. and Anna L. (Kline) Weaver.
On May 31, 1958 in Bradford she married Richard G. Buchanan, who died on April 6, 2000.
Mrs. Buchanan attended Bradford Area Schools. She had worked as a nurse's aid at The Pavilion.
Her favorite past time was spending time with her family and friends but most of all spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed camping, bingo and word search puzzles.
Surviving are two daughters, Diana (Sam) Priest, and Laurie (Stephen) Davis, all of Bradford, nine sisters, Ethel Gould, Pearl Sloan, and Norma Lee, all of Bradford, Shirley (William) Confer, of Jamestown, NY, Mary Jane (William) Buchanan, of Jacksonville, NC, Delsie Wingard, of Warren, Helen (Glenn) Miller, of Lewis Run, Linda (James) Barrett, of Lewis Run. and Martha Bailey, of Derrick City, one brother, Jim Weaver, of Bradford, seven grandchildren, Steven (Carrie) Davis, Alan Priest, Jake Davis, Adam (Missy) Priest, Sara Davis, Amy Priest, and Clinton (Amanda) Anderson, three great grandchildren, Kayla, Cameron and Kristian Davis and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother Jacob Weaver.
Family will be receiving friends on Monday, December 17, 2012, from 3 to 5 & 7 to 9pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. East Main St. where funeral and committal services will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, December 18th, with Rev. Robert Brest, pastor, of the First Free Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park
Memorials, if desired, may be made to McKean County SPCA, American Cancer Society or The Pavilion at BRMC.
