Thousands of Gallons of Kerosene Spilled

Thousands of gallons of kerosene spilled onto Interstate 80 near Penfield this morning when a tanker truck crashed and rolled over at around 8 o’clock.

The tanker was carrying 7,000 gallons of kerosene, and not all of it spilled, because emergency crews were able to stop the leak. Crews are still working to clean up the site.

The driver suffered only minor injuries and was able to walk away from the crash.

Police are continuing their investigation.
