Two Hurt in One-Vehicle Crash

Two people suffered injuries in a one-car crash on Route 5 in Sheridan this morning.

Sheriff’s deputies say at 6:45 a.m. 59-year-old David Kent of Silver Creek was trying to get around a vehicle on the side of the road when his vehicle went out of control, left the road and hit a tree.

Kent had be freed from the vehicle by emergency crews. He was taken by Starflight helicopter to ECMC in Buffalo for treatment of unspecified injuries. His passenger, 47-year-old Elizabeth Lysek of Silver Creek was taken to Lakeshore Hospital for treatment of a head injury.

Deputies are continuing their investigation.
