Australian Dies in Route 60 Crash

A 49-year-old woman from Australia is dead following a three-vehicle crash Monday afternoon in the Town of Pomfret.

State police say Carolanne Boulionis was driving a pickup truck on Route 60 when it went out of control, crossed the road and hit a truck driven by 50-year-old Matthew Wick of Cattaraugus. A third vehicle, driven by 32-year-old Alexander Thurston of Silver Creek, was also damaged but Thursston was not hurt.

Boulionis was taken to Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk, where she died. Wick was taken to Brooks Memorial with a complaint of chest pain.

Boulionis has been visiting the U.S. for the past four to five weeks and had been living in Jamestown.
