SFC Andrew Taylor

SFC Andrew R. Taylor, 32, passed away, Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at his residence in Hope Mills NC.

Born November 20, 1981, in Bradford, he was a son of William R. and Debra (Wilson) Taylor, of Bradford. He was 2000 graduate of Bradford High School.

He enlisted in the United States Army in April of 2001. He completed his Basic Training in Ft. Benning GA, received his engineer training in Ft. Leonardwood MS, Airborne Training in Ft. Bragg and completed training for Jump Master and earned the coveted Jump Master Badge. He also completed training for the Warrior Leaders Course, Advanced Leaders Course, and the Combat Life Savers Course.

He completed four combat tours between Iraq and Afghanistan, where he served as Platoon SGT and Battalion Operation SGT. He was awarded three Bronze Service Medals, one Army Accommodation Medal, two Army Achievement Medals, Meritorious Service Medals, one National Defense Service Medal, three Afghanistan Service Medals with three Bronze Campaign Stars, the Iraqi Campaign Medal with one Bronze Campaign Star, Global War on Terrorism Medal, the Nation Defense Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, the NATO Medal, Combat Action Badge, and the Senior Parachutist Badge.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife Angela M. (Harpster) Taylor, two daughters, Kayla Taylor and Annabel Taylor all of Bradford. one brother, Eric (Jennifer) Taylor, of Bradford, one niece, Kierstin Taylor and one nephew Preston Taylor, 4 aunts, Martha T. (Bob Lassiter) Ahrens of Arlington, VA, Mikki (Joe) Huss of Kirtland, OH, JoAnn Wilson, and Linda Close both of Bradford, 6 uncles, Peter W. (Kathleen) Taylor of Olean, Thomas E. Taylor of Slidell, LA, James M. Taylor of Denver, Donald R. Taylor of Jacksonville, FL, John J. (Karen) Taylor of Denver, and Paul Babasick of Houston. He was preceded in death by his aunt, Anne Taylor Babasick.

Family will be receiving friends on Friday, January 10, 2014, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. 372 East Main St., Bradford PA 16701.

Friends are also invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 2:00pm in St. Bernard Church, 98 East Corydon St., Bradford, PA 16701 with Rev. Raymond Gramata, pastor as Celebrant. Full Military Honors will be accorded outside church after the Mass by members of the military from Ft. Bragg NC. Entombment will be in St Bernard Mausoleum.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
