Wife of Accused Burglar Waives Hearing;
Accused of Lying to Police

The wife of the man accused in a string of burglaries in Bradford has waived her preliminary hearing on charges that she lied to police to cover her husband’s tracks.

21-year-old Christa Colella is accused of lying to police about the boots allegedly worn by her husband Daniel during the burglaries that happened late last year.

According to court papers, Daniel Colella told police boots that left prints at some of the crime scenes, and that belonged to him, were stolen off his porch. But police learned he traded the boots with someone else to throw police off his trail. But his wife told police her brother gave her husband the boots.

When police told her they knew she lied she told them to go ahead and charge her because she will only get probation and she doesn’t care. She’s free on unsecured bail.
