Jeep Hits Tree in Potter County

A driver was hurt when his Jeep went out of control on Route 44 near the Black Forest Inn in Potter County and hit a tree.

Police say 27-year-old Nathaniel Shirey of Jersey Shore was speeding when the Wrangler went out of control. He was thrown from the vehicle when it hit the tree, and suffered moderate injuries.

He was taken by ambulance to Jersey Shore Hospital, and was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.
