Review: Clapton: The Autobiography

Clapton: The Autobiography Clapton: The Autobiography by Eric Clapton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I knew a lot about Eric Clapton before, but reading in his own words about the trials, tribulations and triumphs he experienced makes it feel so much more personal, and makes him seem so much more real.

He doesn't hold anything back -- from being born illegitimate and thinking his mother was his sister -- to his love for Pattie Boyd -- to his struggles with drugs. Clapton puts it all out there. And it's intense.

Then there's the music. His stories about The Yardbirds and Cream, as well as Bob Dylan, the Beatles (great but surprising -- to me -- John Lennon story) and so many more are everything you'd want from a rock icon.
