Senior Jessica Jenkins hit eight 3-pointers en route to a game-high 32 points as RV/RV St. Bonaventure (22-2, 9-0 Atlantic 10) defeated a shorthanded George Washington club, 80-69, to win its record-tying 11th straight game and remain alone at the top of the A-10 standings. Bonaventure and Jenkins took advantage of a GW squad (10-12, 3-5 A-10) which dressed just six players due to injuries. With the makes, Jenkins became the nation's all-time active leader for career 3-pointers with 314. She also moved into a tie for 24th on the all-time NCAA Division I list as she hit eight 3's in game for the third time this season. The 11 consecutive victories ties the program record with the 2009-10 team which commenced its campaign at 11-0. St. Bonaventure football legend Jack Butler, class of 1951, was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame during Super Bowl Saturday festivities in Indianapolis. “I dreamed about being a big, strong football player … but deep down, I don’t really think I believed what I was dreaming,” Butler said in his press conference after being elected. “I knew I was pretty good, but I never thought I was that good. “Jack Butler from Pittsburgh, Pa., by way of St. Bonaventure University, and here I am. … It’s really an honor and a privilege.” Butler is the fourth St. Bonaventure alum in one of the prominent professional halls of fame. Baseball legends Hughie Jennings and John McGraw, for whom the university’s athletic fields are named after, are in the Baseball Hall of Fame; and Bob Lanier, ’70, is in the Basketball Hall of Fame. No one was hurt but a Shinglehouse man is facing charges after hitting a house with his pickup truck. Police say 52-year-old Dana Gross was pulling into a driveway on Wild Cat Road when the truck didn’t stop and hit the house. Harrisburg – The Pennsylvania State Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 62-year-old Beau Gaylord Robinson, a suspect in a shooting Friday morning in the parking lot of the Pennsylvania Farm Show. Robinson is described by police as a white male, approximately 6-feet tall, weighing 210 pounds with brown eyes. He is possibly driving a maroon 2002 PT Cruiser bearing Missouri registration UF4T1E or a white 2005 Cadillac bearing Missouri registration CA8T3V. Anyone with information is asked to call 911. Do not attempt to approach or stop the individual. Robinson could possibly be traveling with Austin and Ashley Barrett, all from Springfield, MO, police said. Daniel McCune, president and CEO of Allegheny Bradford Corp, has been elected chairman of the Upper Allegheny Health System board of directors. McCune was originally appointed to the Bradford Regional Medical Center board of directors in 1999. McCune succeeds David Prince, founder and president of Databranch, Inc., an information technology solutions provider located in Olean, NY. Prince joined the Olean General Hospital board in January 2003, and has served as chairman of the board of directors for Upper Allegheny Health System since its inception in 2009. Mary A. Crane, 70, of Lake Wales FL, passed away Thursday, February 2nd, 2012 at Lake Wales Medical Center. Born November 11, 1941, in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late Milton J. and Mary (Onuffer) Dawley. Mrs Crane graduated from Rochester Institute of Technoloy, with a B.S. degree and Syracuse University, with a Master of Science Degree. She was alongtime resident of Cold Spring, NY where she taught business education for 32 years at Peekskill City School. She also taught at Westchester Community College in Valhalla, NY, Dutchess Community College in Poughkeepsie, NY, Concordia College in Bronxville, NY, and Mt. St. Mary College in Newburgh, NY. Mrs Crane was always taking classes to learn new things, including many computer programs. She had many hobbies, including volunteering, sewing, needlepoint, cooking and genealogy. WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) released the following statement after his bill to reduce domestic abuse and sexual assault on college campus, the Campus SaVE Act, passed out of the Senate Judiciary Committee as part of the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act: “I am pleased that my Campus Sexual Violence Elimination (SaVE) Act will move forward for full consideration in the Senate as part of the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act. Gordon D. "Swede" Bigley, 84, of 91 Crosby Crossroad, Smethport, formerly of Rutherford Run, Bradford, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 2nd, 2012 at Lakeview Senior Care & Living Center surrounded by his loving family. Born September 16, 1927, in Bradford, he was the son of the late James and Gertrude (Amsler) Bigley. On June 3, 1950 in DeGolia he married Winzola "Winnie" (Albaugh) Bigley who survives. Mr. Bigley attended Bradford Schools and had worked for Lawton Oil Company as a pumper. On October 17, 1944 he enlisted in the United States Navy, served during WWII and was honorably discharged on June 6, 1946. Mr. Bigley returned to Bradford and worked in the oil fields then later he worked for Kendall Refining Company in the production department and retired from Kendall-Witco as a heavy equipment operator after 36 years of service. Curtis L. Carlson, 86, of 1319 East Main St., Bradford, passed away, Thursday, February 2nd, 2012 at The Bradford Regional Medical Center. Born July 2, 1925, in Bradford, he was a son of the late Wallace and Olive (Alexis) Carlson. He was a 1943 graduate of Bradford High School. On March 6, 1943 he enlisted in the United States Army and served in Central Europe, Rhineland, ROME-ARNO and Southern France with the Battery A 747th Field Artillery Battalion, he was honorably discharged on December 23, 1945. On May 3, 1947 in Bradford he married Margaret L. (Washburn) Carlson who survives. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Evangelical Church and served on Church Council. He was formerly employed at Ed Debartolo Developers in OH, William Christie & Sons in Kane and prior to his retirement he was a foreman at S. M. Gleason Company. Legislation sponsored by Senator Lisa Baker will improve emergency management and response at Marcellus Shale wellsites. The new law requires drillers to implement the most basic rules of public safety: to plan for disaster, to share their emergency plans with the people who will implement them, and to have 911 information at their fingertips. The act also requires drillers to inform state and local officials of wellpad locations and access roads. In this way, the Commonwealth better protects the health and safety of first responders and the public. "Any first responder will tell you that the best weapon against injury, environmental damage, property destruction, and death is not the most state-of-the art fire truck, radio, or protective gear—it is information," Baker said. The Rev. Leo Gallina, a Bradford native and former pastor of St. Bernard Catholic Church, will receive the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford’s highest honor at this year’s commencement ceremony. Dr. Livingston Alexander, president of Pitt-Bradford, will present the Presidential Medal of Distinction to Gallina at the 2012 Commencement Ceremony scheduled on April 29 at 2 p.m. in the KOA Arena of the Sport and Fitness Center. Judge John Cleland has scheduled a hearing for next Friday to consider the state attorney general’s office motion to bring in a jury from another county in the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse case. The AG’s office says pre-trial publicity and the close ties the community has with Penn State would make it impossible for a jury from Centre County to be fair. Sandusky is accused of abusing 10 boys over a 15-year period while he was an assistant football coach at Penn State. He denies the allegations. Sandusky’s legal team has until Wednesday to file an answer to the change of venire motion, according to Cleland’s order that was issued Thursday afternoon. Another hearing is scheduled for next Friday. In that, Cleland will decide whether Sandusky can see his grandchildren, which he currently cannot do as terms of his bail. Thomas has been involved with many worthwhile charitable endeavors over the years, including former Bills' star quarterback Jim Kelly's Celebrity Auction that he held to raise funds for children with disabilities served by The ReHabilitation Center when the Bills held their training camp at St. Bonaventure University. Young, who worked with Jim Kelly on the auction, thanked Thomas for his generosity and kindness.

HARRISBURG – Legislation to give charitable organizations better fundraising tools has been signed into law, said Rep. Martin Causer (R-Turtlepoint). “Veterans groups, fire companies and other civic organizations do so much for our communities, but outdated state laws were holding them back from raising the funds they need to continue their missions of service,” Causer said. “We updated the Small Games of Chance Act to give these groups a fair shot at raising money during these challenging economic times. Governor Tom Corbett signed the bill into law today. The new law increases prize limits for small games of chance from $500 to $1,000 for daily drawings, from $5,000 to $30,000 for weekly drawings, and from $5,000 to $10,000 for raffles per calendar month. Fire and emergency service organizations also will be permitted to hold a raffle with a $50,000 limit. The law also allows organizations to use up to 30 percent of the money raised for the entity’s general operating expenses, which ...

39 people have been rounded up in a drug sweep throughout Warren County. Members of the Warren County Drug Task Force conducted early morning raids that targeted “petty drug dealers selling dangerous chemicals which wind up being injected into the veins of users.” Warren County District Attorney Ross McKeirnan added in news release that, "We are not talking about blowing around a little pot smoke. This stuff destroys lives." He said there would have been four additional arrests today, had it not been for four recent drug-related deaths. McKiernan also had a message for the drug dealers. He says the police know who they are, and are coming to get them. Sheriff Kenneth Klakamp served as incident commander of the operation.
